Shout out to Jeune Pato and Madu Kadum. I wanted to make a special for them in particular. I am speaking about the Koffi Olomide trio special. Here are two people that would be perfect for a Koffi reunion special of QL. There are only two singers need for this project for the majority of the songs. FALLY IPUPA (LE KING BY SOME FANS) SUZUKI (SUZIKI 4X4 DUE TO HIS CHARMING VOICE) It would be nice to hear the voices of Koffi Olomide Mopao Mokonzi with Fally Ipupa and Suzuki. These three men would be the ideal for three reasons 1) Koffi's rusty voice brings some good vibes for women when they are feeling down and he knows how to penetrate their sentiments of their moments of happiness and sadness. 2) Fally Ipupa brings a more R&B emotional vibe that fits with today's Congolese music as it seems to goes towards this kind of style with rumba of today. Not rumba odemba that some people enjoyed from the past 3) Suzuki has a seductive voice that is able to make women feel in love with their significant when they want a good love song or a song with a sweet voice. Suzuki was able to provide this during his good days with Quartier Latin. These reasons are why I believe they would fit together. They would satisfy women with their voices together and they would make able to remake some songs that had the tcha-tcho beat that many women loved in the 1990s and the 2000s with Koffi Olomide. But they would also be able to make some style of Fally Ipupa's music like his recent song Canne à Sucre. It would be nice with that kind of style as well because women would have great pleasure to hear their voices as well. I was very well convinced of this idea especially after seeing the 32nd anniversary performance.
I was convinced that this would be a good idea because Fally and Suzuki were the best part of Koffi Olomide's Quartier Latin and they were the ones who captured audiences more than the other members like Bouro Mpela, Sam Tshintu, Soilel Wanga, Deo Brando, Modogo and others. I like their voices but they are no match to Fally Ipupa and Suzuki 4x4. These two men would mash well with Koffi's voice and make a good trio like Koffi could have done with Madilu and Josky here.
That will be Koffi Olomide with Fally Ipupa and Suzuki 4x4. It will be as good as you heard with Madilu and Josky alongside Koffi Olomide. Very nice and harmonious and no confusion. It is important that Koffi fans push for a trio scenario of Fally Ipupa, Koffi Olomide and Suzuki together. It is so important before Koffi gets too old. What do you guys think?
Shouts out to Jerome Ogola and Joseph Osir. This is for them. The trio that should have been. Franco, Mpudi Decca and Ntesa WHY? You ask. These men would have been a better trio than Franco and Ntesa were with Madilu. Franco is known to be a wild singer who likes to dramatize his voice a lot and wants to show strength behind his voice. Ntesa is pretty jolly and he likes to kind of further that signature sound as a big tenor singer. Which is why I think Mpudi Decca would fit perfectly with these two men. Though he has a reputation being a bit crazy, he is actually a very relaxed singer. Look at this song Belle Mere.
Mpudi Decca would be able to calm the crazy voices of Franco and Ntesa. Why? Because he actually controls his voice very well which is impressive for someone that some may think is a "mediocre singer". I consider him a solid singer. Maybe not the greatest singer but he has a good voice nevertheless. Imagine this trio together. They would have been a better force together. Because you would have Franco's wild baritone with Ntesa's jolly tenor with Decca's smooth baritone making a musical force. Two guitarists and one singer. Because they would be make great harmony as a trio. Decca would add soft joy in addition of Ntesa's very joyous tenor voice. It also could have led to a more humorous harmony as well with these three men if they wanted a funny song and I am sure fans would have played it many times. One good example would have been Franco's Très Impoli. You could have Franco's voice running while Decca would put his mamou imput as well Ntesa's very humorous voice in it too. It would have made the song funnier in my opinion. What do you guys think?
Hello everyone. This is Franco Pepe Kalle. I am doing Fan Voices. People love this man because he was funny and sincere. His name is Mpudi Decca. I don't know much about him other than his music career with Franco and OK Jazz. He was a very important bass player for this band for over 20 years. He made his own signature as a bass player. Case in point, the song Kimpa Kisangani
That bass was too strong. He actually is a good singer. He knew how to sing actually. I give the song Belle Mère
I apologize for the photo on this post but it kind of described how funny the song was. It was one of my favorite songs that I have heard for a long time. But he is most known for the song Mamou with Franco and Madilu. He actually sounded like a woman. Incredible. I still don't know how he managed to do it but he did a spectacular job. Here is some evidence of this comedy of the song Mamou. Some others call it Tu Vois (You see).
Mpudi Decca has four other songs that were good and strong. They were Nakiosa, Makaya, Bedjeka te, and Ndaya. Ndaya is one incredible song with the trio Josky, Madilu and Ntesa. It was done in Kikongo. Check out the song here.
Mpudi Decca went on to be part of the band OK International with other former OKJ members like Lokombe, Malage de Lugendo, Thierry Maintuka, and Diatho Lukoki. He sadly passed away in 2007. He will remain one of the greatest bass players in Congolese Music and he is probably number one as bass player in OKJ.
From fan request, I am going to speak about these three men Aime Kiwakana, Djo Mpoyi and Malage de Lugendo. It is amazing that these men never sang together as a trio during their time in OK Jazz. Too often they were singing with others in OKJ such as Ntesa, Josky, Madilu or Ndombe. They did sing together but alongside with another person. This leads me to this post. I know that these men would have sounded great as a trio and they should have done some songs together where it is only these men together. I know it would have sounded incredibly sweet and great as three only singers together. I have some songs where they could have been strong as a trio in OKJ. From all periods Ladji of Simaro Celio of Franco Taweba of Ndombe Bois Noir of Empompo Loway Okundji Mamba of Simaro Soeto of Josky It is a great question wondering why there was never a moment where these men sang together as a trio? I will let you decide that call.
First post in a while I have made a post. Possible Theories. 12) Why no role for Nyoka Longo in Quatro Langa Langa?
Now I got the second post which I will focus on Franco today. If he were alive, what would he be doing? It is a tough question but based on Franco's life, I find two scenarios. Scenario One: Franco being a politician in DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) Franco could have been a politician since he did make a lot of songs where he spoke of CEOS and how bad politicians can be. He often spoke against the establishment referring to them as "Animals" and "shameful" in figurative terms. Franco could have been a congressman and he would be a effective congressman of opposition. Because he would have tried hard to make sure the citizens have chances like the politicians. Scenario: Franco would continue OK Jazz as a musician or CEO with his son Emongo as his manager Franco I believe would continue OK Jazz. Prior to Franco's death, he made it clear that he wanted OK Jazz to continue to do without him. Manzenza alluded to this in a interview. His son Emongo actually leads a new OK Jazz group right as a manager. If Franco was a musician, then he would play a less role as a mentor helping musicians get their shine on. Franco would probably play guitar and sing less than he did during the 1980s. He would have had some amazing vocalists to give a good surround for Franco. I think that would the be scenario if Franco was a "Musician". If Franco was purely doing business. He would be officially be a CEO of the OK Jazz with a new leader to oversee all the musicians or be a leader while being a musician. It is very likely that Franco would have made a company and business purely based on OK Jazz and it would be his bread and butter. This way it would be Franco officially calling the shots now in more of his terms than he did as a musician. Then his son Emongo would be a manager of the musical group of OK Jazz.
